Division commanded by Claimjumpers assigned to assault and capture V118. Claimjumpers and VF-6 advanced southeast to take position on ridge south of objective. Division made contact with enemy in town and came under heavy fire. 251 Battalion following behind to form on left flank was directed instead to advance up ridge due west of town.
Wyatt arranged battalion with himself on right, then Coronado, King and Trol dressing to the left with Sidle and Millsaps supporting in the rear. Column advanced line abreast to top of ridge, and Wyatt sighted enemy tanks moving against main line. 251 halted at top of position and opened fire into enemy's right flank. Coronado experienced mechanical failure and forced to abort.
Kind destroyed hardened gun position on V118 at 2323. Wyatt scored hit on T-34 and crippled its engine. M3 attempted to aid but driven off by fire from battalion. Trol finished of tank, crediting Wyatt with the victory. Enemy driven out of town and Claimjumpers advanced to secure V118. 251 battalion moved in from the west, moving towards a position northwest of objective.
Trol reported fire from left flank. First shot fell short but second round destroyed tank. 251 turned to clear ridge north of V118 supported by elements of Claimjumpers but unable to locate shooter. M3 attempted retreat from vicinity but destroyed by Claimjumpers.
251 ordered to top of north ridge to hold line by Raccdog. Battalion complied and took up position, anchored on right flank by reinforcements from Claimjumpers, while remainder of division secured southeast ridge.
By 2348 objective declared secure.
