VMF-251 launched from A40 at 2306 with 7 Bf-109G-6s and gathered into formation to patrol northern end of A40 area. Red Flight consisted of Maj Wyatt, Lt. Drazz and Lt. Trol. Blue flight under Captain MEF4UD consisted of Lt. Roche, Capt. Morgan and Lt. Bodie.

At 2332 Wyatt suffered mechanical failure and forced to return to base. No other aircraft available, MEF4UD assumed command of squadron. At about 2345 enemy planes spotted. Squadron engaged.

MEF4UD shot down 2348. Drazz claimed Spitfire at 2348, and a second at 2350. Roche shot down at 2352. Bodie went down with mechanical failure at 2352. Morgan heavily damaged during attempt to return to base at 2350. Ditched just off field at 2355. Drazz ditched at 2355. Trol joined with remainder of Killuminati after rearming at 2359, and shot down Spitfire at 0010. Returned to base and landed at 0058.
